Good place to be social, as for the food not good and over priced.
Over priced and the quality is not there
Ate at the Tavern tonight and did not have a good meal experience. We had oysters and "panko" crumbed prawns. The oysters were quite nice, but the prawns were just your pre-fab breaded prawns that you get frozen. We then waited 40 minutes for our main meal (there were only 3 tables in the whole restaurant, mind you). When the meal finally arrived I cringed at the cold congealed gravy on my partner's plate. My Moroccan lamb salad was soggy and drenched in dressing. It actually came with cocktail olives... and a stale piece of pita that might have been toasted the day before. My partner's steak and chips came out dead cold, and the service left much to be desired. Count on waiting a long time for drinks. At least the price is reasonable - I suppose for a night out on the town for $60 - what do you expect?
My partner and i ordered our meal. We waited 50minutes then our starter came out. 5mins later we were told that they had run out of lamb and we had ordered lamb roast. So didnt even have our meal after the long wait. Will never return, would rather head butt a table with pencils in my nostrils.
