Great food at a reasonable price.Good drinks. Charming historic building on a lovely lake. Wednesday nights have excellent chicken & dumplings with all u can eat. Excellent fish fry.
Recently visited Schaumburg's and was not happy with the food. We had the prime rib dinner and it was the worst prime rib I have ever had. Normally you get a slab of beef 3/4 inch to 1 inch thick, but theirs was about 1/3" inch thick and was full of fat. Not only that, it was not very tender. With prices of $16.99 for a queen size, you would think it would be a good to excellent cut of beef. Not so! Another person in our party had french onion soup which turned out to be a very good stock with onions, but no croutons or cheese on top. She was very disappointed!
Fish Fry was good - service was so-so. Not greeted very well, made to feel like we were on a time limit. All you can eat kind of, plate for refill turned in to a saucer after the 3rd. request.
Excellent food, drinks are better!
Nice atmosphere, good food. Their steak bearnaise was lovely
