Beautiful view and easy access. Food and service is average. One day it is good...... The next day you sit on the deck for 20 minutes waiting for service that never shows. We weren't the only ones on the deck either.
Took my wife here for our anniversary. The building was cold and so were the owners. When our waitress brought our bill, I told her we had a coupon and she immediately deferred to the owners. She said "just walk up and talk to them, they are sitting at the bar." Strike one for making your customer go get the owners and strike two for the owners sitting at the bar drinking. So I walk up to the bar to talk to them and they told me I had to have the coupon printed out. To which I responded "what do you think is the point of this mobile app." They didn't know. I hope that $25 coupon was worth losing two customers for life.
Overpriced special and drinks stick to the regular menu. Never come here!
I noticed that someone wrote "the food is amazing" - no, no it isn't, don't listen to that reviewer. The food isn't bad, pretty mediocre, but it's FAR from amazing. The burgers and streaks are ok but are horribly overpriced. The steaks are a little tough and the cook definitely isn't a steak expert. This is what you expect for kind if greasy bar food. Fries are good, fish fry is pretty oily and I wouldn't recommend it. Avoid the fried foods, as they don't change the oil often enough and French fries often come out tasting like fish patties. The service is not great. It's taken long times for the server to come and take our order. The ambiance here is downright dismal. Huge locals flock to this bar every Friday night to order endless, greasy fried fish and fries. They are massive people who sit at tables or at the bar wheezing and talking about how great the GOP is. Educated people be warned, this is a bar full of oversized right-wing sheeple. If you want AMAZING food in/near Phillips, check out the WestWood Sandtrap. (At the Phillips golf course). Much better food - the best I've had in northern Wisconsin, and great service.
Best entertainment in town. The bar is amazing, the food is amazing and the service is even better. When you are there you feel like family and it's all right on the lake. Nowhere better to spend your time in the Northwoods.
