Sjolinds Chocolate House
Reviews
Visiting my parents in mt horeb. My wife and I love local coffee shops and this one is top of the line! Great pastries, great coffee and cappuccinos and great service! Would definitely recommend!
This place is an incredible gem in a minor tourist town. Every pastry is spectacular, and the staff have a gifted hand at the espresso machine. When I feel like I need a pick-me-up, I stop in here, and I am always pleased.
Best coffee, chocolate, pastries, and staff in Mt Horeb. Among the best quiche anywhere. In the universe. While many chocolatiers serve only their own chocolate (and Sjolinds' truffles and chocolates are outstanding) they also have a phenomenal selection of bar chocolate from around the country and the world. Great salads and soup as well. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.
This is a great little place for a coffee and a lunch. Try their hot chocolates and their lunch plates. Good stuff.
We initially stopped in Mt. Horeb a few years ago on our way to Madison after seeing a sign for the mustard museum. We'd been to Sjolinds before for drinks, but yesterday, we ate lunch there. We had the broccoli bacon pasta salad and two cups of soup - Gumbo and Vichyssoise. The salad was really really good! The dressing was a vineagrette and came on the side. Soups were both excellent, too. Soups came with some bread thins on the side. The girl behind the counter was very helpful and friendly. Pies looked excellent, but we opted for chocolate instead (of which they have tons). We got some chocolate before we left (which is more what they are known for). Oddly, the fancy chocolate was only good, not great.
