Stopped for lunch, food was excellent, flavor was perfect, had a burrito with chicken and steak and it was fantastic, even the refried beans were good, 4 stars because the margarita tasted like coolaid, but that's not a big deal
We just wanted to sit at the bar and have a couple of drinks. We sat down and the only thing the bartender did was wipe the counter off in front of us. She didn't say, "I'll be right with you" or anything. She continued to make drinks for other people/servers and ignored us. We left after 15 minutes.
MAN I THOUGHT I MAKE A GOOD PEACOKC BURGER BACK AT THE RANCH BUT DOS GRINGOS (spanish for two peacocks) OUTDID ME THIS TIME!!! FRESH PEACOCK, WHO COULD ASK FOR MORE FIRST THEY CUT OFF THE PEAHEAD, THEN THEY SLAUGHTER THE PEACOCK, THEN THEY MAKE DELICIOUS BURGERS MMM DOS GRINGOS, OR 'TWO PEACOCKS' IS THE PLACE TO BE!!! 3/5 service was spotty
I used to go by myself and get a smother burrito, I used to like it . One day I order the same, just like the other 5 times, I took a bite ..... YUCK! Wtf... they changed what I ordered? I wondered. Took forever to get a waitress attention and asked her if this is the smothered burrito I ordered. She said yes that's it. I said it doesn't taste the same like it did last week. She didn't have an anwser for me. I didn't eat it. When I left I told the bartender he got the owner. Owner told me yes that's how they always make it. I said it was gross. He said he found that hard to believe if I liked it before and not this time. I was so mad I just left.
I stoped into Dos Gringos on a business trip when I had a taste for mexican food. They had something on the menu called a seafood smothered chicken. Shrimp and crab in a white sauce over a grilled chicken breast. Sounded good... I took the order to go because I had a very long day and just wanted to go to my hotel and have dinner. I bit into a piece of chicken and found that the top of it was cooked, actually almost burnt, but the underside was raw. The texture and taste of raw chicken is not a pleasurable sensation in the mouth, so I spit it out. The chicken had been cut into four sections so I tried another, hoping it was just that one piece that was raw - again, I spit it out. I ate some beans and rice - they were ok, but nothing special. I sat in the hotel thinking about it and decided it was wrong to pay 12 dollars for a raw piece of chicken, so I called and talked to the manager, Scott Everly. Mr Everly is also the owner. I explained how my chicken was raw, he told me he found it hard to believe. He argued that the meat is marinated, so maybe it would stay pink, I told him it was not the color but the texture and taste of raw chicken that convinced me. He said, "Usually I give a coupon for a free meal if someone is unhappy." I told him I was from Chicago and would not be in the area for a free meal and asked him to take the meal off of my credit card instead. His ignorant response floored me, "Well, you had half a meal so I will take half off your bill." When I questioned that and told him beans and rice do not constitute half of a meal, he yelled that he would deduct half off of the bill and hung up the phone. I called back and told him I found his attitude and half-credit idea very unprofessional. He told me he did not care. When I mentioned that since he did not care, I would write a review and call the chamber of commerce or better business bureau, he yelled that he would deduct the meal from my credit card (I don't know if he is still doing half or all) and hung up again. So, if you dare eat there, beware of raw attitudes and food! By the way... the creamy seafood sauce was watery and gray... not too appetizing either!!
