Great fire cooked oysters!!! Great alder cooked halibut!! Slow but worth the wait. Not for snobs!
The owner cooks the oysters over a wood fire. The process is slow but result is fantastic. Barbecued with sauce, pesto. Make sure top sop up the juices. BTW since it matters to me it is not wheelchair accessible so we waited outside. Worth it.
Wait staff was terrible! Im a 25% tipper if the service is good and I went out to my truck to get the $0.02 just so I could leave the exact change. The home made clam chowder was bland and the store bought looking crinkle cut fries were brown from being cooked in dirty oil. I was a cash paying customer so it didn't bother me personally but we seen 3 different tables get up because they didn't take credit/debit cards or checks. They charge $0.75 for to go boxes on top of their outrageous prices (as if you would want to take it home after you tried it).
Excellent barbequed Willapa oysters, fat and juicy. Had trouble finishing a dozen after the dish of pan-fried oysters and a cold beer. Husband and wife hold down the fort and provide great food at a good price. Barbequed oysters took about 25 minutes, but well worth the wait. Large local oysters with a slightly spicy tomato sauce with herbs and onion. The place is primitive and on a little traveled highway, but I must stop every time though South Bend. Salmon chowder is superb, but I can't get enough oysters.
Dirty looking, youd have to b desperate for food to eat there, very unattractive, needs a total make over, like a 3rd world country,
