Great food and family atmosphere. Owner stopped by to see how everything was, which shows me they take a lot of pride in their food and service. My wife and I played board games before breakfast! Cozy place!

Great food & atmosphere with excellent pricing.

I've been there a few times now for breakfast with my boyfriend. I really like the potatoes but being a picky eater I won't eat much else there. The portions are large and the prices are good. During my first visit the service was good except that my boyfriend who had asked for coffee with cream was given the coffee but after waiting a while for the cream had to flag down a server to get it. The second visit went better. However, my third visit this morning did not go so well. We walked in and as their policy is sit wherever you like and there weren't a lot of choices we sat down at a table that had been partially bused but still had some drinks and silverware on it. We waited a full ten minutes without even being acknowledged. We then left very upset at the service.

Very nice place. We stopped in during morning hours for biscuit & gravy we thought was very good. So much better than anything else around. Homemade all the way, the gravy was so close to my Grandmother's. You can tell it's made from scratch. Seasoned well, not over salty like most places. Thick-cut bacon, another great offering. Another visit we had dinner... I tried the French Dip. The bread was fresh, sliced roast beef was perfect, with their own au jus was very good. The prices are very affordable. Coffee was good. They serve it in a cup & saucer and chose a very good roaster. Terrific! The service has been great each and every visit. The baker is really talented and serves amazing scones, muffins, biscuits, and more... They are a down-to-earth team and are looking to make good food and make you happy. Even though the menu isn't huge (which is a good thing) they stick to what they do well. Take some time to get to know them, the more I sampled the menu and got to know them, the more I appreciate what they do and why they do it so well. I've put a star on my Google map for the Axe Handle Cafe. I'll be back.
