Very hit and miss... processed dinner food... Seriously not that impressed.
I came in hungry, I left very satisfied! Truck parking too!!
My fiancé and I are always on the lookout for tasty, inexpensive food on the way to/from our favorite hiking spots. The eating options on the Olympic side of the Hood Canal are not very plentiful, especially in the off season when many places are closed. Yesterday, we were lucky enough to stumble upon The Tides! The service was very friendly, and we felt very welcome even though we were obviously the only out-of-towners in the establishment. Their menu is surprisingly large, filled with lots of options for local shellfish as well as the essential option to order from the breakfast menu all day. We chose the oyster sandwich and the BLT (biggest I've ever had!!!), both with a side of the clam chowder. Everything was delicious--they clearly use good quality ingredients and put lots of thought and care into the food. The clam chowder stood out above most I've tried, especially on the Olympic Peninsula! In short, don't pass up this place--I'm glad we didn't!
Great place to go for a real mom and pops atsmophere. food is great breakfast is the best. you get lots on your plate only leave hungry if you didn't choose to eat. best place to eat in Hoodsport. Try the chicken fried steak or stuffed browns for breakfast. Soups are homemade clam chowder every day best on the canal..
What a great local cafe. We eat there often and have never been disappointed which is saying a great deal about the over quality of the food and service which is always above average. Great breakfast and lunch place and open for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. Can highly recommend. Best part about the Tides are prices which are very fair.
