Diner fare at its best. My family members are regular breakfast guests because of the delicious sausage gravy and perfectly cooked-to-order food. Family-owned and operated. PS: 3 for cleanliness & you can see the grill!
A great place for a quick lunch. There is not much in Madison that provides anything but fast food so the Mountaineer is a great alternative.

This little place would be easy to miss, but we're so glad we found it! The food was delicious and inexpensive, staff was friendly and the restaurant clean. What more can you ask for? I'd recommend this place to anyone!
Open for lunch only except for a couple days so call first. The food really is great, and cheap! It's a favorite for lunch. The burgers and fries are awesome, the crab cake sandwich is decent.
