Cowboy's Smokehouse Cafe
Reviews
We travelled through the u.s. on a motorcycle road trip. Out of 6300 kms travelled the Cowboy Smoke House Cafe was the best meal of the trip! Awesome home made style food in a classy western environment.
Very friendly staff, great atmosphere, but the rib eye steak...not so much. We read the negative reviews but decided to go as there were no other 'real' restrauants in town. Our check was reduced as 1/2 of our 2 rib eyes were fat and the other half was tough. If you want a salad.. here is your place.. Rib eye.. consider something else.
Service nice and friendly. The New Yorker Steak I ordered medium rare was well done, the second rare and cold. The potato was ok but the brocoli cold and steamed too short. I'm sorry but I don't come back. ...
We were on a roadtrip when we passed Panguitch around diner time. We loved the atmosphere at smokehouse! We had a mixed plate and it was delicious.
Me and my cousin (he is a german trained cook!!!) got a combonational platter with chicken, beef, baked potatoe and a salad. The salad was okay (because of a selfmade sauce). The chicken was not fresh, means longterm kept warm till it got dry and hard. The potatoe was not cooked enough, so hard and served by not enough sour cream. The beef was fried too long, nearly dead. My mom got a chicken salad with not enough dressing, little diversity, just boring. My father got a steak, eatable but not well-done. In general the food was not spiced enough and too dry - so it gets the worst grade. The kitchen is a catastrophe and couldnt win prizes or keep up with real concurrency. The atmosphere is nice because of livemusic. The ambiance is kept too simple and the service is nice and fast. It is possible, that you have to wait for a table - this restaurant is the only not fastfood restaurant in town and that why its packed and busy. Conclusion: Take your car and look for a better place, if you have pretensions in the food.
