Gillman Honda San Benito

I am a resident of Edinburg, Texas. I was dealing with Clark Knapp Honda (horrible customer service) when I decided to try Gillman Honda. GILLMAN HONDA OUTSHINES CLARK KNAPP HONDA BY A LONG SHOT. From the second I spoke to my salesman on the phone asking if they could give me a better deal than Clark Knapp to signing my leasing papers for my 2014 Honda Crosstour. The experience was THE BEST experience I have ever had when leasing a vehicle. Ask for Jo Kolniak! A pleasant, respectful gentleman who took all the time to show me all the technological features of my Crosstour. The car leasing experience was amazing from the second I arrived at the dealership until I was signing the finance papers with Javier Lozano. I highly recommend any Gillman dealership. I will definitely be returning to Gillman for any of my car needs.
I cannot speak for how this dealership is to purchase a car from; my experience here is strictly on the SERVICE end. We are Winter Texans and when our Check Engine Light came on I made an appointment and took our CR-V in for service. The car was put on a lift right outside the waiting room so I could see the technician come, spend a few minutes at the car and then go away. The car stayed there for a couple hours with no one paying attention to it and finally I was given an estimate for some $1600.00 -- $600.00 to fix the valves causing the Check Engine condition, and $1000.00 in other 'suggested' fixes -- several of which I know had recently been addressed by a family member and did not require fixing. I commented to the service manager that the vehicle had been up on the lift for over 2 hours but no one had been back to do anything to it in all that time and he downplayed the comment by saying they trust their employees and said nothing more. Subsequently we took our car to Clark Knapp where the repair cost us $309.00. I don't know what their deal is, but attempting to rip of Winter Texans is not a good way to grow a business and I will tell anyone who asks about their practices. Just because I have an out of state license is not an excuse to mistreat a customer.
Can't return a simple phone call... I drive an extra 30 min for better service at Clark knapp Honda in Pharr
My mom went here to get her car serviced. They set an appointment then promptly looked at her car 2 hours late. So 5 hours later, they found out it had 2 recalls. They fixed one recall, and didnt have the parts to fix the other, or to fix the her original issue. A week later they contact her saying come in we have your parts. Ok great. She arrives, again the hurry up and wait game. She sat there about 6 hours, then poof it's finally done. On her drive home the original issue she went in or, and payed for, was still broken. She goes back, of course mad a hell, and they awesomely spent another hour trying to figure out what was wrong. Moral: Slow as hell, dont know how to keep appointments, and have no clue what they are doing.
Both their Sales and Service department are awesome. I've had two cars, Honda Civic and a Honda CR-V. No complains what so ever, from the purchase date to service intervals for both, No doubt I recommend Gillman Honda every time I have a chance.
