This place is an oasis -- easily the best restaurant in a 30-mile radius. I have been a regular for several years and I have never been disappointed. While similar restaurants might serve you fried zucchini that was previously frozen, at the Hwy 77 you get FRESH zucchini that is hand-breaded. That's just an example: try the chicken-fried steak, the fried catfish, Sue's German coleslaw, and don't miss Bill's BBQ and the original sauce. The meat loaf is to die for, and blowing your diet on the peach cobbler will be well worth the extra 15 minutes on the elliptical tomorrow. If you're driving down Hwy 77, it's well worth the stop.

I live in chilton Texas and go to Cafe 77 every once in awhile and it is a treat to go there the food is excellent the service is excellent and there's a little Spanish waitress there that is very very friendly always smiling and always waiting on you I would recommend it to anybody the word is try it you'll like it.
First time eating here and will definitely return. The special for the day was fried catfish - very tasty. Being partial to "sweets" had to try the home make pie - so good! Known for great peach cobbler too! Food made fresh daily. Service very friendly. You'll love all the pictures on the walls - a story is provided with each picture. Lots of attention to every detail. The owners are some of the nicest folks you'll ever meet.
First visit today. Service was great by friendliest people. Food is excellent. Try the liver and onions if you like it. Don't miss the peach cobbler and as long as you're having it, might as well add a scoop of ice cream. We'll be going back regularly.
