One of the only places in Presidio to find a good meal. The only downside is the hours of operation.
The Enlightened Bean is a very homey and down to earth restaurant. What sets this place apart from the other restaurants in town is that it offers a slightly more american style menu. They excel in hamburgers and paninis along with occasional specials like chicken alfredo and others. They also have a wide assortment of coffees and cappuchinos that will make your mouth explode with flavor. There is also a specialized bakery in the bean which makes cakes and pies of all sizes and occasions. Just about everything you'll eat here is prepared by hand and/or made from scratch (this includes the bakery). This can make the wait a little longer than usual but trust me it is worth it in the end. This along with some of the best customer service youll find in town makes the Enlightened Bean THE place to stop by for a delicious and hearty meal!
You forget that you are in a desert, border town when you are at "The Bean". The music is great and sets the mood for the fabulous food! Presidio has excellent Mexican food, as does "the Bean", but it is wonderful to have this funky, tasty option!!!!! And the prices are very reasonable.
Just ate here and it was great. French fries were made in-house, which is very rare these days. Excellent home made BBQ sauce as well. They have burgers and fries, fast food type entrees, as well as sandwiches and Tex-Mex stuff. If you are looking for something that is not 'Mexican-only' for a menu, I think The Enlightened Bean may be the only place in town.
