No doubt about it. This place can put some damn good home style food on a plate at prices unseen these days. Weekday lunch special is $6.99 and you get tea (sweetened or not), meat and 2 veg with roll/cornbread and desert. It is simple but it is homemade, fresh and tasty! The chicken-fried steak is so tender and crispy it rivals any around. I am from Texas and have eaten my fare share - I see to that. Not greasy at all. Gravy is simple and creamy but not over done - a perfect complement. The baked potato, I chose instead of 2 veg to go with it, was hot and loaded, Perfection! Cleaned my plate or I would have taken a pic. Didn't know it would be that good! I hear chicken and dumplings are on the lunch special next Thursday and breakfast is a must. Can't wait. I'll be back for them both. If I can get through all the specials, I will have to try a burger because there were a lot of those being eaten around me too. Oh, and Pie, pie, pie... I love pie and the ladies here can make some mighty fine pies. People are walking out the door with whole pies and I only had a piece, Should have known better when the locals say "all I need is a fork" when given instructions on proper slicing. I will be back every chance I get. Good enough for the destination trip!!! Staff and service is friendly and spot on clean!
This is a diamond in the country! The food and service is great. Homemade desserts are wonderful. Decor is fun and many home crafts to take with you.
Awesome food, come here every time we are in Hardin. Closed on Sunday & Monday. My favorites; chicken fried chicken or steak and the breaded shrimp.
Very good food and service. Everything tastes like it is homemade not something from a supplier and just reheated. The Steak and Shrimp on Fri and Sat is the best.
Delicious food! Place is always clean. Good home cooked vegetables & great tea & coffee!
