This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in the area. I just had a horrible dining experience. It didn't matter that it was busy for Christmas in Goliad. I knew it would be a little slower tonight with that going on. But we had two parties of five come in after us and finish their food before us. So after waiting an hour and a half for food, my daughters club sandwich was burned and my pork chops were dry and didn't have sauce. Not to mention we watched our waitress fill another tables tea glasses twice while we waited. We finally got our own. The one time she did fill our glassed we timed her courtesy of the iPhone timer, 12 min. to get us a refill on tea. We tried to tell the owner of our dining experience and he was oblivious and acted like he didn't care. We won't be back and like I stated at the beginning, this WAS my favorite restaurant.

We went during market days and they were short on waiting staff. But we were having such a good time talking with everyone else there and taking in the scenery that we didn't really mind how long it took to get our food. I had the 50/50 burger and it's probably one of the top 5 best burgers I've ever eaten. I'm still having dreams about it. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who was travelling through Goliad.

Mom and I were passing through and wanted something different other then the regular restaurants so I googled and did a little research on what to eat, we ended up at this restaurant with an open mind because of the semi good/bad reviews but here is my experience 8/9/13... 1. Restaurant was clean service was welcoming, well at the beginning. 2. Mustard Catfish was really great! Everything else on the plate wasn't so great. Fries were soggy and cole slaw was warm (room temperature). All for a great special of $7.99, really? Um, sorry manager but there's nothing special about that plate and price. Everything on the menu was very expensive. 3. According to "policies" they ended up charging us for bread even though the server had already told us it was on the house?! Yes, the casher said "The manager's policies with the bread just changed like an hour ago." Mom and I just looked at each other and just nodded. 4. Bourbon Pecan Pie was gross. It was old, cold, and not homemade. Over priced as well! Sorry but this hanging tree thing needs to either go on the show mission impossible (Food Network) or just turn the place into a museum since it has more taxidermy then what they sell at Academy. *But if you do decide to try this place make sure you don't

Sorry ordered fish and shrimp and payed extra for them to deliver and they did not bring any of are shrimp then called them and she said she was not going to bring my dam shrimp overall sorry
