I used to really enjoy this place ...unfortunately, i wont return unless it's because the owner sells the place to me ...the potential this place has is unreal ...but not managed at all ...the food is very good but could improve even more...went to breakfast here about 6 weeks ago ... very busy of course,, had to sit in the back ,,, arrived at 1030 AM ... left there after 12... very frustrated ... today,decided to give them another chance...busy again ... waiting to be seated for 10 minutes plus and a table is created for us in the back again ... as soon as we sat down the waitress warns that the wait is over an hour for serving... not acceptable and we left ... thankful that at least this time we were warned of the slow service... Good food, good service, and quick service can be be done here ... PLEASE sell this place ...Let me make an offer !
I had a Groupon from here so I went and I wasn't too worried about about being picky here because my friend had said she ate there before and it was good. But when I went with a group of my friends it was sub-par..the wait was pretty long the food wasn't horrible but it wasn't anything special.. but something that I really enjoyed was their hot cakes or pancakes.
Canyon isnt known for its bustling and nice restaurants but this place needs to wise up and update. There arent too many other restaurants to choose from, which is also ridiculous. But, we have been here 4 times for breakfast only. This last time was just enough to convince us to forget this place all together. We had been before and service was "ok" its like yeah, the waitresses are "sweet" and "nice" but c'mon. You're not 12. Before this last time it took the kitchen 40+ minutes to get our food out. We didnt order any meats with our breakfast... eggs...pancakes and biscuits. And it took 40+ minutes. The waitress didnt once tell us what the hold up was or apologize. She told us the kitchen was understaffed. Gee, thanks. We have a one year old who doesnt care if the kitchen is understaffed or not. Its like.... common sense!?!? And where the hell is the manager. Nor did our "sweet" waitress comp ANYTHING for our ridiculous wait. This last time I ordered a BLT. The sad sandwich came to me with soggy, old, brown lettuce. Inexcusable, really. I asked the waitress to take it back. No sincere apology of course. So the sandwich comes back, same plate, same bread with the old lettuce on it with new lettuce stacked on top. Hey newsflash manager of this place: fire your entire kitchen staff, shut the place down and update the decor because it looks like a trailor and while you're at it... just call Chef Robert Irvine to get Restaurant Impossible to fix everything. Sorry these Canyon natives dont know any different of what good food is.... and you've been allowed to serve them crap food along with mediocre service. But no matter where you are or who you employ or who you serve: DO IT WELL.
Drove from Amarillo on 6/10/13 and arrived shortly after 8pm. Was told at the door they just closed. Should keep their hours current on the website!
Overpriced food. The menu does not describe the food at all. The college wait staff is less than thrilled to be serving as well
