Gorditas are very good,But at 9.95 a plate? A bit pricey for El Paso with so much competition. Having to order at the register is aIso a bad thing. I felt rushed.
Was in town for work. Had seen positive reviews for the Little Diner on Trip Advisor. Went for dinner on a Monday night, about 4:30p and it was already pretty busy. Order the 3 Gorditas (with beans and rice), and WOW, was it good! It was also a lot of food, so could easily be split by two people. The young lady who took my order was very friendly, and the food came out relatively quick, and hot! The hot sauce that came with the plate was also very good and full of flavor. The rice and beans were good, and very authentic. Don't know if I'll be in Canutillo again, but rest assured if I am, I'm going back to the Little Diner!
Little Diner isn't what it used to be like when Irene owned it. Back then it was very good, and now it's just tasteless and too damn expensive. The food is not worth energy to leave the house, Leo's Mexican food is better than this place. Please don't choke on the food!
I ate there last night for the 3rd time. Talk about no taste and mediocre food!!! And in addition, you have to go up to the counter and place your order and pay for it before you get it. It was expensive AND tastless. Plus the place looks and feels like a cheap burger joint. I've now had everything on the menu and everything I ate was bland. My chile con queso was not even warm and tasted like canned green chiles melted in the micro wave with Velveeta cheese. And, the waiter brought me the queso and tortillas with no plate to put them on! I WON'T be back. There are farrrrrrrrrrr too many other great places to eat in this area that use fresh ingredients, have some kind of service and ambiance, and are reasonably priced.
I had heard of this place online as one of the best places to eat in EP online. So we decided to try it. It was a little pricey, however the food was great. Everything is homemade. The salsa is great and sliced and the combination plate was delicious! I would come here again.
