Great sandwiches and good coffee drinks
It doesn't look like much from the outside but I was really impressed by the inside! The food was great and the atmosphere was a lot better than any Starbucks type place.
Great little place, nice decor, and a nice menu. It's a well-executed cross between a coffee shop and a sandwich shop. My wife is on a quest for the best BLT in Middle Tennessee, and pronounced this one "pretty good", while I loved my reuben panini. You don't usually find this kind of eclectic place in such small towns - Waverly is blessed.
The place is architecturally beautiful. The ceiling alone is marvelous. This used to be a place called "Fountain on the Square" before becoming a coffee shop, it was a soda shop. The colors are robust and beautiful, and the ambiance is relaxing, but a bit dull like the town. The town itself is beautiful, but a little dull. But the shop makes up for it with the food. Most days the servers are very nice, and if they're not, they're probably busy or having a bad day because they have always been nice to me. They often try new recipes and give them to customers in shop to try out. That's fun! One complaint i do have though, their coffee, the actual coffee not a mixed beverage, tastes weird. I usually have espresso instead, which is particularly delicious. They do a good job flavoring coffee, and even though something may be seasonal, like my pumpkin spice latte', if you ask, they will make it anyways. Their soups and sandwiches are good, but if you go, i recommend their salads, they are to die for! They're made in house and are sooooo delicious! They also have quite a bit of confectionery, most of which i think is ordered and sliced at the shop, but is still delicious! Worth the trip, but be prepared to pay some high prices. My lattes are about 5bucks. So if youre eating there with a friend as i do, the total will be anywhere between 25-35$ depending on what you eat. But my friends, the food and drinks are totally worth it! Bon apetite!
This was a very disappointing place. We tend to go out of our way to visit local places as we travel. The facility and décor were very nice, although the bath rooms were not heated and as a result very cold. We ordered coffee, chicken soup, a sandwich and tea. The coffee was bitter, almost tasted like vinegar and the soup was the consistency of gravy. The “soup” was so thick that the spoon would stand alone in the cup. I returned it to the counter and said I didn’t want it, the lady said they would give me tomato soup if I preferred. Since I declined her offer for the other soup I wound up paying for BOTH coffee and soup that was un-appealing and un-consumable. On the other hand the sandwich was fine. We would not go back and sorry to suggest that others approach this place with caution.
