Awesome. We we're visiting the area, and I had my heart set on some BBQ. This place was right down the road from our room at The Lodge at Tellico. I had the ribs and my girlfriend had the Skydive Chicken. Great smoked flavor and the portions we're awesome. Beans we're very good too. Very fast and friendly serivce. Limited seating inside and it filled up when we we're there - fast, but there are some tables outside. Not much to look at, kind of a shack with a smoker lean-to out back, but the BBQ is spot on. The woman behind the counter at the Harley Davidson store had carry-out when we stopped in after lunch, and her loaded potato looked great. Can't wait to go back!
Krambonz USED to be THE place to go for some good ole Bar B Que. Today we were met with upsized prices and a downsized meal! We would have been better off going to the Hardees across the street. Note to new owner: this is not a good way to start your endeavor with a business that was established by good healthy portions. And NOT a good way to treat your locals! Seriously, where's the freaking beef?????
Just a chance encounter - which are always the best. Tried a "slammer" - a bun dipped in aus jus, topped with brisket and grated cheddar - my first thought was what are they trying to cover up, happily I was wrong - the beef was excellent, moist good taste with good bark. The aus jus was just a new hook and not bad. Service good. Try it, you'll like it.
I rode the Cherohala Skyway with my brother and his five friend from New York and introduced them to some good ole fashioned Barbecue. The portions were phenomenal and the quality the best.
