My two sisters and I ate dinner at the Kingsport, TN location about a week ago. We were seated right away because we came in at 4:30 pm. We didn't get waited on for a few minutes - then got menus and then it took about 5-8 minutes before we got our iced water and tea and a mixed drink. We told the waiter we would like to order soon because we knew what we wanted It took him 10 min or more to get back to us. After we ordered, it was about 30 min. till we received our food. I got fried shrimp, my sisters got fried catfish. One of my sisters and I got macaroni and cheese. I tasted it right away - it was barely warm. I asked another waitress because ours didn't come back to please take it back and I'd like it to be hot. She said she was sorry and would bring another hot one for me. Well, she brought it back in about 5 min. - I thanked her - tasted it, then had to get a different waitress to take it back - my sister then said hers was also cold. So, I asked a different waitress if they could just please put it in the microwave or something to get it heated up. She took both back and it was about 5 min. later we got nice hot ones. The shrimp and fish were delicious. But, we wanted to get there early to avoid all the traffic and people and we were there 1-1/2 hrs. before we could finally finish our meals. The people were nice; however, the service was terrible. I normally go to the Roanoke, VA Cheddar's because we live in Roanoke. My sisters live in Kingsport, TN. They used to be good but the last several times I was in TN, I could see their service go down. Their waiters are nice but act like they are hurrying but are gone forever and the place wasn't even half-full! I love Cheddars and wish they could all be like the Roanoke, VA one. Everyone we have heard talking about the Roanoke, VA Cheddar's loves it. They have great management and share a caring and uplifting experience.

Waited 15 min. No server.Server came and we ordered drinks.Waited 15 more min. and drinks came and were wrong.Spinach dip was ordered with no sour cream and it was fixed wrong also.We had to flag down server and waited 10 more min. on drinks to get fixed .I don't know if I will be back.I have had issues with service in the past.

Was taken to this Cheddars today by my Fiance for Fathers days, since I will be out of town on that day, this is the very first time I have eaten at a Cheddars resteraunt, our server Will was great, he was polite and professional , Thanks will, I'm the guy who asked your name so I could do this review, atmopher was nice, quite and clean, plenty of space and didn't feel crowded or cramped, everything was clean and neat , The food was great and you defenatlly get your moneys worth . We will return .

First, I love Cheddar's. I eat at the one in Morgantown--It's great. This Cheddar's is awful. SLOOOOW service, fumbling server who never came to table. If she had asked me how my burger was, I would have told her--AWFUL. Burnt (and I asked not to burn it) burger, cold fries and pathetic service. Go somewhere else. Please don't judge Cheddar's by this one. Sat. afternoon at 2pm--not a rush. "We can only cook burgers medium" should have been "they come out black and crispy"

I have been here a number of times since moving to KPT. Last night the food was exceptionally good and so was the service. Most of the time this is not the case. NOT RECOMMENDED for take-out ordering!! That seems to be a real struggle for them to get right. Prices are always reasonable for the food you get, especially if it happens to be really good. Its like russian roulette here.
