The restaurant decor is minimalist in nature. Tin roofing material as wainscoting covers the walls. Lots of TV for the sports minded and a couple of pool tables. But I didn't go to Merv's for the ambiance, I went because I heard that the Burgers were the best around. I'm here to testify, that they are indeed the best burgers that I have found in the Chattanooga area. The place was clean and the wait staff friendly. I highly recommend Merv's for any burger lover.
If you're hunting down the best hamburger in Tennessee-this is it (the fried mushrooms are awesome, too)! The servings are almost more than one person can eat, atmosphere is relaxed, decor is utilitarian but comfortable, service is friendly. Try a Merv's Burger at least once...bet it won't be your last. UPDATE: Merv's was damaged in a flood last year and was completely re-decorated. Am updating my rating. Same wonderful service, same great food, improved surroundings!
Great Burgers excellent service and huge portions! We got an order of the homemade chips and fries and a family of 4 could hardly finish it.
Don't like to wait? Call it in ahead of time! Great food, always more than you can eat too
