Copper River Grill

Good food, decent service. The food at Copper River is always on point: hot, fresh, well seasoned. Prices aren't bad, especially for their lunch specials. The service has been alright, but they're usually pretty slow. Describing the decor as "lodgelike" is pretty accurate, but that doesn't mean it's fantastic. It always seems like they need just a few more lights on, the restaurant seems somewhat dark. Pretty good place, just don't get in any hurry.
Love This place. My wife and I will drive out of our way to eat dinner at any Copper River restaurant. This one is a favorite of ours.
It was my brother-in-laws birthday and he wanted to go to Copper River. Since there were 10 of us, my sister called and was told that they did not take reservations. She told us about 6 and went early to "stand" in line. We waited an hour while we watched other groups go ahead of us that arrived after she did. We were told that they "called ahead". Winds blowing, black clouds, 60 degrees and they asked if we wanted to sit outside. At about 7, they managed to get tables put together for us. After a bit, we finally ordered appetizers for the table. they came. and we sat,,, At 8, we were told that the printer was jammed and the salads would be ready soon. She told us that it was only about 15 inute delay When I told her we had been sitting there for an hour, she went to talk with the manager and came back and told us that the appetizers would be taken off the bill. Salads came with the food, We ate, had the cake and the bills come. appetizers were on the bill. When I said something, she had to go back to the manager. Food was not that good and I would have never stayed that long for supper, but it was my brother-in-laws request. Unless you have 3 hours for supper with a 2 year old and a 78 year old with you, you might fine the place is a good place to eat.
Took my wife and 3 children here because it looked like a decent place and we had heard good things about it. Firstly we have 3 young children one of whom still sits in a high chair and they seated us at a tiny 4 person table. This by itself isn't a deal breaker for me just a minor annoyance, especially when I see open booths and larger tables available. I can be rather particular about etiquette and service, well when the waitress comes to the table and when were ready to order tells me that she will taken a particular persons order first it's a little off putting. Again by itself this would just be a minor annoyance, seems this place is rather good and blending little annoyances into the entire experience throughout. Well my wife and both ordered steaks, I ordered medium rare and she ordered medium. Well when they arrived mine was quite rare and my wife's steak was medium well, borderline well done. Finally the thing that grew more irritating over the course of the meal was how inattentive the servers were. Also one more note about the tables, all the booths we saw weren't even built so that you could have a highchair used at them as they are raised to high to have one at them. In summary any single issue would have been fine, but dealing with something in every aspect of their service that was in some way lacking means that we won't likely ever come back. If we do it certainly won't be with our children as it is not exactly a comfortable place for a family with children in tow.
Food was delicious, excellent service, friendly and attentive staff. Will definitely come back again
