Medium burger was cooked well done. No pink whatsoever in the hamburger. Cheese on top was not put on and melted from the heat of the burger after being cooked. I think the burger with cheese and topping were heated/reheated in a microwave which caused the overcooking. Cole slaw was so-so. Fries were good. Water and lemon were good. Strawberry rhubarb pie wasn't that great. Cheaply made. Vanilla ice cream was too soft. Freezer must be set too low. Probably will pass it by when next in the area and try a local diner after doing some on-line research.

My wife and I have been somewhat frequent patrons of the Fireplace for years and especially fond of the Prime Rib. The past couple of visits we have been somewhat disappointed with the meal but Sunday, February 1, 2015 was bad. The prime rib had so much grizzle that most of it was not eatable. The rest of the meal was only okay, not what you expect from a 'better' restaurant.

We have been customers for the past 7 years since we moved here. The quality, quantity and tidiness has gone down over the past years. On Tuesday night, 07/15/14, my husband's sister and her husband took us out to eat at The Fireplace. Our waitress seemed nice in the beginning, but later on, we couldn't get our check,, and had to get the hostess to chase her around to get it for us so we could pay and leave. Nonetheless, we did leave her a $10 tip--about $2 shy of what we would have left if we left our usual 20%. While we waited for our beverages, I look around and saw the dust and dead flies on the window sill, the windows were clean, but the table was all beat up, missing part of its finish, and the condiments on the table were sticky. The backs of the chairs were sticky, too. Our beverages were fine, soda was not flat, coffee was good. We have had "bad ice tea" that had turned, but that was a couple of years ago. My three companions had "Seafood Bisque" soup (which used to be Lobster Bisque, I think) and it was cold and a bit watery. Not much seafood in it at all--not like the old days. Three of us had the Peg Leg Seafood plate and mine was pathetic. The frozen battered shrimp was over-fried and hard as a rock. The "clams" were nothing than the tiny leftovers in the basket after you've dropped the clams into the oil to fry, and then scrape the rest of the stuff out of the basket. My halibut was spoiled, but my husband's was ok. My brother-in-law had the stuffed shrimp and it was "okay." My lemon meringue pie was actually "melted" on the plate, and tasted awful. I waited more than 10 minutes just to get it. At the end of the meal, we could not get the waitresses attention no matter what, so we finally had to walk up to the cashier and tell the hostess. She got the check for us and our relatives paid; we left a $10 tip despite the horror. It's a good thing the hostess didn't ask me how things were with our dinner.

Place FREAKING sucked plan and simple , offer shrimp but buy the cheapest crap you can get , can't cook a steak at all , slow service ...... spent 190 between 3 guys and only cause we are southern gentleman we left a great tip

I was told about this restaurant by a protor and gamble employee... So my newphew and I stop by. First inpression the place was busy. The food is something I wouldn't feed a bum. The sodas are flat. The prices are too high. Please close down... But the worst thing too happen while there is that another customer left before us and came to the window where we were sitting from the outside and spit on the glass. Informed owner and we left. The owner came out and applogized and invited us back in but after that we ready to go before we went ham. I think she should have given our money back...This place and the lady that spit should be onto jackass wall.
