Always a good meal at Coopers Seafood. I love this place. We had dinner between blizzards. The staff was awesome. Food and beer incredible. Everyone was happy.
We were there for Gary's 21st birthday. My nephew. Had a good time . The waiter was very nice and helpful , the staff was quick and cleared table. The calamari was so good there was none for me.. We(my daughter and I) had burgers and my son had clams, guinness on tap, lots of choices , everyone at table was full, no room for dessert. All the little memory stuff to look at was fun.Took pictures, and Gary had a good night with family .My son loves seafood. He left his glucometer behind so I quess we will be taking another trip up to Coopers tommorrow again. An early trip. Wish it was closer to where I live..
Went here once, sat at bar, I loved it - the bartender gave us free beer, the patrons were extremely friendly. Yes, it's goofy and kitschy, that's their selling point!
I dined here with my daughter celebrating her 30th B'day last night (Wed) and over a leisurely 2 hours we greatly enjoyed a fantastic 4-course (could've/should've been 5 with a dessert)-course meal! Selections were from the Appetizer, Soup, Salad and Entree sections plus one of the free B'day entrees. The food (plus yummy homemade bread and butter up front) were absolutely DELICIOUS! Ingredients used were authentic and rich (discerning palates can tell)! Prices were reasonable and portions were appropriately sized. Waitress did a GREAT job for us while also attending to another party of 8 (with 2 toddlers) AND supervising a new waitress, so I tipped her 20% (she earned it). We are both chefs so it's not often that we find a restaurant that pleases us. The restaurant is large and the menu is extensive, so you'll probably get better service if you go during the week instead of a weekend (especially if it's your first visit). We intend on celebrating my B'day there in about 8 months; can't wait to turn 60 yrs old! We had plenty of food to enjoy and also have leftovers to bring home. The authentic and rustic "museum" aspect of the restaurant is also worth a couple of hours to explore and enjoy either before or after the meal! This restaurant is perhaps better enjoyed if you dine as the French do.... and make it a 2-hour experience vs "grab, swallow and go" as most Americans are used to doing. Our "Congrat's" to the staff and chefs; great job!
My friends and I had dinner at Cooper's Seafood House on Saturday November 2nd, 2013. We called ahead for a reservation, but when we arrived no one seemed to know about that. We were seated way in the back. We were traveling through the area and not expecting this to take a lot of time. It took 2 hours and 15 minutes from the time we arrived until we had our check. Service was extremely poor. I was served the wrong dinner, and the waitress argued with me that it was what I had ordered. My friends told her she was not correct. She took the dinner back and brought me the correct meal in a very short period of time - literally less that five minutes. Unfortunately I did not realize until later that it must not have been properly heated because I ended up deathly sick and admitted to the hospital for three days from probable food poisoning. I cannot prove that it was from the crab cakes, but that is the only food I ate during that time period that was not shared with someone else. Another person in my party ordered a hamburger and it was served blood red in the center, although she had ordered it well done. She sent it back and it still came out red. I will never return to this restaurant.
