The food really SUCKED!!!! Our first time to the Wine and Cheese festival. Everything was so good, till we had dinner. We all had the buffet with prime rib and all the other stuff. I've had better roast beef, and it was pee warm, in fact everything we had seemed to be just warm. except when they brought a new pan of something, then t was hot for a while. I'm really surprised someone didn't get sick. I will never ever go back to that place for any meal. If I had it to do over again, I'd have just bought something from the vendors on the street. The only good part....... the waitress was great.
Took my wife here for our anniversary. She asked for a Caesar salad because it wasn't on the menu. Had to send it back, they didn't know how to make one. "Red Flag" The wine we wanted they were out of. She ordered a NY strip steak and I did the prime rib. Tough! Both were unseasoned and very difficult to cut or even chew. The vegetables with the meal were obviously frozen and not fresh. I'd have to say the potatoes were okay. If your into overpriced bar food or truck stop quality with an upscale atmosphere then this is your kinda dive!
We decided to travel to Allegheny Grille to celebrate our two year anniversary of opening our small business. We had visited before when it was Foxburg Inn and didn't have a good experience. We were seated immediately, and our waiter was very kind. We got our appetizer very fast, it was stuffed banana peppers. We like a little heat, but these were super hot, so we took got them wrapped to share with someone at home. We waited for an hour for our food until we asked someone where our food was. He came back and told us it would be out soon. Ten minutes later, it came out and wasn't exactly the way we ordered it. But at that point, we had to leave soon, so we ate it. We got crusted haddock and sliced Turkey. Everything was very good. They apologized and offered to buy us dessert, but a that point we were so irritated that we told them this was the second bad experience and that we probably wouldn't be back. They then came back to our table and told us that they were going to pick up the tab and apologized again. We told them that we wanted to pay for our meal, that we weren't looking to get a free meal, and we asked if it was typical to wait this long for your meal. They told us it wasn't and that there was a mistake in the kitchen. They apologized again and gave us a gift card and invited us to come back again. I was COMPLETELY impressed!!! Comping our meal was the right thing to do, giving us a gift certificate was above and beyond what they needed to do. But most of all handling the situation with INTEGRITY was amazing to me. The fact that they were able to say that there was a mistake was more important to me than a free meal, and we will definitely be back and recommend Allegheny Grille.
Nice atmosphere, pasta was okay. Disliked the fact we were seated next to a big table with an older gentleman that was drunk and loud. Later saw him in the parking lot beeping at people while driving a silver Town and Country.
I had my wedding at the grille during the winter season 8 months ago. As it was a destination wedding and I was booking from Texas, I made all the arrangements over the phone, and wasn't able to try any of the food until my rehearsal dinner. Needless to say, I was thrilled! The food was spectacular, the service was top notch, and Mel helped me with EVERYTHING that I asked, always with a smile, and made sure she was available the day of my wedding to be around. And the views -- it snowed heavily all that day, and the world was covered in a blanket of snow along the river. It was gorgeous; there was nothing I could complain about. Many people have come up to us and said it was the best wedding they'd ever been to, and they absolutely loved the food and the location -- and the open bar. Thank you, Mel and the Allegheny Grille for making our day special. We'll be back again to visit soon!
