A Restaurant In Decline I used to like Ruby Tuesday and maybe still do, but I have to wonder after stopping in on this place. The outside sign should have been a bad sign. Less than half the letters inside were lit on two sides of the building. The salad bar was a mediocre shadow of what I have seen of this franchise in other places with a poor selection and some offerings past their prime. The service was slow and sparse. It used to be a much better experience. I won't return to this place and may not risk another Ruby Tuesday experience elsewhere.
Ruby Tuesday has the best garden bar around. They have edamame on the bar, plus the pumpernickel croutons are amazing. They have a nice selection of drinks and beers. I got the Ruby Relaxer one time. It was delicious, made with Absolut vodka, Cruzan coconut rum, peach schnapps, pineapple juice, cranberry juice, and fresh oranges. I also tried the Strawberry Mango Tango that was made with Prairie Organic Vodka, and strawberry and mango purées, as well as triple sec. My fiancé always gets Blue Moon, and I can vouch for the Blue Moon Shandy with Grand Marnier and lemon. I have eaten their lobster tail and shrimp skewers before with green beans. The beans were crunchy and delicious, shrimp was great with garlic butter brushed on them, but while the lobster tail had a great flavor, it never fails that they over cook it, giving it a rubbery texture. My fiancé has had their barbecue ribs which were actually very delicious. He got a steak another time which was cooked perfectly, and it had a good flavor as well. He has also got the crunchy shrimp with the spicy dip which was great. Some of their portion sizes can be rather small, though. I'm not sure why unless they assume people eat a lot at the garden bar. The servers have always been nice to my family and I. Overall in DuBois, this is probably the nicest restaurant with the best food and drinks.
Ruby Tuesday has fresh food that is delicious. Everything is well made. I love going here.
