Went for dinner while on a business trip. Two people in our party had been there before and spoke highly of the restaurant, so I was eager to see the old library and try the food. One person ordered Mahi Mahi and it was delicious, not over seasoned or over cooked. I had the special of liver and onions, haven't had liver and onions for years, and they cooked it just right, included broth to keep it moist. The garlic mashed potatoes were just ok, couldn't taste the garlic. They make their own bread products and the rolls were delicious! When we ordered dessert, we were amazed at the size of the ice cream puff - it would feed 3 people, but no one wanted to share with me as they all got their own dessert - strawberry shortcake and carrot cake. They reported their desserts were good. I was truly impressed with the building and how carefully the library was changed into a restaurant while keeping much of the old architecture. There's a lot of history on the walls and tables in the form of framed old newspaper clippings - fascinating. I will definitely go again, want to try some of the other dishes on the menu. Our waitress was superb, and engaged in conversation with each visit to our table. I was disappointed that I couldn't get a mojito from the bar, but that drink doesn't seem to be popular here in the north west area of PA.
They served the best prime rib I've ever had.
Staff are excellent..Service is wonderful...food is to die for...I enjoy it more than "The Beef" in Olean...Affordable too
Delicious food they took our order 10 minutes before they closed and did a great job on our steaks. Will definitely be back. Restaurant was very pretty also.
Food was decent, not delicious. Service was incredibly SLOW. Very thankful we had not taken our children, they would have been bored silly because we literally waited over an hour for our food. Even though Beefeaters has the same menu items as the Beef n Barrel, BnB is much cleaner and has a higher quality of food.
