If your life is lacking drama...the sign outside states "Enter here" (at your own risk of course). My husband and I went to lunch today and witnessed the passing (firing) of another great manager. We have been going to this Fridays since it opened (back in the '90s). During that time, we have witnessed many managers coming and going, most recently 6 of them. Today was the final time that we will spend money with a company that can't get UPPER management right! This restaurant hasn't been able to get it right for a long time. Hence the poor kitchen staff (at times), the rampant and ambiguous rumours that are allowed to spread unchecked, without repercussion, as well as the drug use among certain employees. The manager that was terminated today was an amazing man who worked well with staff and they in turn were willing to work with him. Then, to top it all off as this manager walked out the back door for the last time, upper management (Joe) had the nerve to bring the new one in the front door in less than 5 minutes. Was this all planned? I'm sure. Does it suck? Yes. Is the staff upset (that it happens in the middle of the day)? Absolutely. I will not spend money in a place that de-values its employees as much as this one does. I will also make sure that everyone knows that my husband and I witnessed it.
Love the place, staff, and food especially anything with Jack Daniels in it.
