Food was alright, probably frozen first. They had Chili's paper lining their baskets which was kind of funny. My biggest problem was how expensive it was compared to its quality. It should have probably been half as much.

Great chowder in a sour dough bowl. Recommended by locals

I would give the food an 8 and the service a 10. The tall older woman the above Google user spoke of is wonderful. Chris treated us like we we're locals. Even put plastic down for my 15 month old, so he could eat and we didn't have too worry about him making a mess. We actually have the ability to read, so when Chris was nice enough too let us know how long the broasted chicken would take,... it wasn't a surprise, we already saw it in BOLD writing on the menu. Sounds like the above Google user is a little stuck up. I would recommend The Salty Dawg to others who visit Waldport.

On our recent trip stopped by to get something for a late lunch. Once we were there we remembered we had been there 2 years ago while on vacation. I didn't remember it being as good then as it was now. I ordered the seafood chowder and it was very very good. My husband had a seafood salad and my friend has fish and chips. Both of them had a clean plate and were satisfied. I think that the waitress was very nice but a little slow. I think it had more to do with shift change and getting caught up from earlier in the day than her abilities. Either way we will be back on our next trip. I need some more of that chowder!

The Salty Dawg is so-so. It is one of our only options in Waldport, and it's alright. I love the folks down there, though. You get to where you enjoy the company as a local. The food is fair- I hear the fried seafood is good (I don't eat fish). The burgers are good, the fries are not (I wish they would change them!) and the mexican food is mediocre. The drinks are strong and they have a few beers on tap.
