Olde Jaol Steakhouse and Tavern
Reviews
Excellence at all levels. High class cuisine at reasonable prices. Good microbrew selection. Only place I eat when in town. Food equivalent to expensive fine dining in fancy Cleveland trendy restaurants. Very unpretentious friendly atmosphere! Cool place.
Nice place but on a nice day try to sit on the patio because if u sit inside service is a little slow due to overwhelmed patio patrons.
Just had dinner at the tavern tonite with my wife. Hate to say it, but just not a very good meal. The menu is your typical bar food. That's fine, but the nachos were a mess (was that cheese whiz?), the tortillas are always stale, and the meals were awfully bland. The pasta was entirely tasteless and watery. It was just pure watery starch. blech..! Just not good at all. Almost to the point of paying the bill, donating the food to charity, and going elsewhere.
The olds jaol is a landmark of this small town offering Woosters view on upscale dining. The fine dining atmosphere offers some of the best ambience that one can find without forcing it upon you. The service is far superior to that of a smaller bistro and the waitstaff really takes the time to appreciate your dining needs. While the menu may seem a bit dated the specials really show the expertise of the chef here. Adding to the fine dining, the tavern with their lively bands on weekends and fast and friendly service make any night a great dining experience.
Cheerful service, good food, some of the best homemade onion rings and a killer happy hour. Went with my wife and two teenagers. Everyone had a great time. Plan on going again.
