I've been to Fusion a handful of times, and every time something wasn't satisfying, usually having to do with the service (although the food is definitely not great either--certainly not worth the price). The last two times I was there--both in late December 2013--I was completely shocked at how long it took to get my food and check after we were clearly finished eating. I'm guessing we waited for the food for at least 40 minutes during my last visit, which is completely ridiculous considering we both ordered salads. I have had the salmon salad a couple times. It's ok. The salmon isn't awful or wonderful, and the rest of the salad is bleh--run of the mill. I will say their fillet was great when I ordered it a couple times ago. They have a really small size fillet which wasn't expensive and just enough for a small dinner, and it was a perfect medium rare. The only redeeming qualities of this place (and why I end up going back) is the beer selection and bar, and overall atmosphere. Urbana doesn't offer many selections when it comes to restaurants (and by that I mean there's nothing here unless you want a good deli sandwich at Mumfords or fast food). So when i get together from friends this is the obvious choice and really only option. If you're from out of town and expect a lot of good beer, you'll be disappointed. I mean the bar and beer list are ok for this town. Definitely would choose this place over any of the other drinking establishments nearby. Basically: get your crap together, Fusion. You have a potentially great opportunity here but you keep screwing it up by TOTALLY missing the mark on the service end. I thought about being nice and giving them 3 stars but I just couldn't do it. Sorry.
Service is always excellent. Camaraderie and quality of food, along with the cheerful ambience, make this a great place to dine alone, or with a significant other. Smaller selection of foods, perhaps, yet everything I've tried has been of superb quality and taste...
Such an amazing atmosphere. The rotating menu is a nice touch. Great food and service!
