Tony Packo's Cafe

Jim & I have been here twice and love it. We live in Gainesville,Florida and our friends moved from Columbus to Toledo so we have enjoyed visiting them and coming to your place to eat some really good food. I'm bringing a wonderful girlfriend in May to the tulip festival in Holland Michigan and we are either stopping by to your place on the way there or on our way back from Michigan then to go to her home to Columbus Ohio. It's great food. see you this May.
Being both a huge M.A.S.H. & hot dog fan, it had to be only a matter of time before a pilgrimage to this legendary Klinger endorsed cafe became a reality. The Hungarian spiced hot dogs are very good and it was fun seeing all the other celebrities who signed real hot dog buns besides just Toledo ' s favorite son, Jamie Farr.
Bennett Management Corporation has ruined this fine iconic restaurant. the chili is watered down effectively increasing product and ruining the taste, the dogs have shrunk getting smaller and smaller . the chicken chili has lost all good flavor
Best chili dogs within the whole Toledo area. But who reads these? My dad doesn't seem to like their dogs, I have no idea why. Their dogs are more like sausage and not anything like those cheap sort of tasteless hotdogs you find at homes, restaurants, and stores. The chili is great, for a hotdog. By itself maybe it's not the best, but it's the best on their hotdogs. Finally the other thing I 100% love Is their chicken noodle soup, everything in it is homemade and cooked soft making this a great pick me up. as for other menu items, I haven't tried them because if I spend money on those two things I know I won't be disappointed. Last thing, not everyone agrees with me but my wife does: you may not think much about fountain pop but they have The Best fountain pop I've ever tasted. although that seems to be exclusive to this location, not the other tony packo's.
The food (chili, hot dog combo #1, Mac and Cheese) were decent but nothing special. I liked that the hot dog was closer to a sausage than a hot dog. The chili was mediocre (and had the texture of canned chili) without the hot sauce. The atmosphere was pretty bad. It's in a crappy area, the servers and customers are all fat and white trash, and there was only one craft beer available (Great Lakes) - just white trash beer, which is always depressing to come by in 2014.
