BEST cupcakes in the city! Lemon ginger is my favorite, but I haven't found one I haven't LOVED! Won't go anywhere else to get my cupcakes!
The girl behind the counter was rude and the cupcakes were awful and dry.
Sugar Cupcakery is an adorable shop. I tried it for the first time last week. We bought a vanilla bean cupcake & a chocolate truffle =$6.50. I was so excited to try it after all of the hype & publicity. But was left super disappointed. The chocolate cake was yummy, but I was disgusted by the gelatinous texture of the chocolate icing, oh my! The vanilla bean flavor was harsh & waxy, & the yellow cake smelled delicious and sweet but one bite left me confused! It tasted bland & grainy....like grits. Both cupcakes were left half eaten between my husband & I. I will never go back, I'm not sure if it was the organic ingredients but this is NOT what cupcakes should taste like.
Sugar is located in a charming building in a picturesque section of old Milford. The interior is sparse but pleasant, with a few tables for customers who choose to sit and eat their purchases on the spot. The service was friendly and efficient. The cupcakes themselves, while interesting in some of the eclectic and intriguing sounding flavors and in the fact that they are advertised as being organic were small in size considering the premium pricing, and none of our six flavor selections stood out to any of the group of people sampling them as being exceptional or worth the cost.
This is the best place for a cupcake date ever! The cupcakes are beautiful, delicious, organic and they have all kinds of options - gluten free, vegan - so that no one is left out of the cupcake party! The people who work there (for the most part) are super nice and know a lot about the products. And while it doesn't have any effect on the sweets, per se, the decor is just as beautiful.
