We are building nearby and have been regular patrons of the cafe for nearly two years. We have always been pleased with the food and the service. The people are very friendly (we know most of them on a first-name basis now) and every meal has been a pleasure. I would never hesitate to recommend the cafe to someone else'; in fact, we have taken visitors there several times.
I grew up in the area, and my aunt used to work there. The food's always been great, even though some of the employees have been a little iffy. Either way, it's a place I'll always recommend!
I don't get this place at all. I've tried it twice (the second time was because of other people) and I will NEVER do so again. I'm honestly amazed that it stays in business since there are two other restaurants in Laurelville that are very good. First off, who in the heck can screw up sausage gravy? It was the most bland gravy I've ever had in my LIFE. Ignoring the fact that it was served stone cold. My over easy egg was hard cooked and the coffee just wasn't that good. It tasted as if it were watered down cheap coffee. The service was attentive, but the food was so poor it really didn't help. I have to say, that they do have a bunch of regulars. I see the same cars there on my way to one of the better restaurants, but it can't be because of their breakfasts or coffee.
Good food, good people.
