New to the area, the locals seem to like it but we did not at all. Had breaded mushrooms, gizzards, and their saratoga chips to start. Mushrooms were as expected of frozen mushrooms but worse. They had more water inside and the breading is worse then the standard you usually find. Saratoga chips are just homemade potato chips, no seasoning, nothing special. Gizzards weren't all that great either. My boyfriend and I shared the rib dinner and the frog legs dinner. Ribs were ok but nothing great to make me come back for. Sauce was ok but at least they were very tender, fall off the bone. The frog legs were the worst. Frozen but I guess that is to be expected. Maybe even had been freezer burnt. They were covered with lots of batter and fried. The batter was good but just way too much. We both had a plate full of batter after removing to find the very dried, bland tasting frog legs that were inside. This place just wasn't for us.
Scotty's is a great place to go if you want a good cold beer, but not much else. There food is not as good as it used to be. The ribs and chicken are dry and the sauce is just added prior to serving. Service is a bit marginal as well. Look elsewhere if you are hungry.
