Sorrento's Restaurant & Lounge
Reviews
Dear God who in their right mind would give this place 5 stars? Food is overpriced and should be ashamed of themselves trying to pass it off as Italian food. How in the world do you mess up a salad? lasagna taste like it was from the freezer, dessert was awful, why would I pay for disgraceful food if I could make it the right way in my house?
The day before Thanksgiving, I knew that my wife loves Sorrento's Filet Sandwich, so I thought I would surprise her and bring one home with a twice baked potato. I ordered a cheeseburger. While I was waiting, I asked for a glass of house wine. It came in a small sherry glass and I was charged $6.50! When the meal arrived, I was shocked to get the bill....$38.00!! I asked for a sandwich and was given a meal...the server would not correct the error. We try to support local businesses, but after being ripped off like this, we will not eat at Sorrento's again. Thought this was the good Sorrento's I'd had as a kid. Nope. This place is just trying to ride the real Sorrento's coat tails. The food was sub-par, the neighborhood is bad, and (I'm showing my nerd here) there's a "Leaning Tower of Pisa" on the sign; Pisa is in the north of Italy, Sorrento is in the south. Verdict: Sorrento's on Montgomery Rd. is good, this one isn't.
the Filet Mignon Parmigiana is awesome! Just ask for the order of meatballs to top it off.
decent food, good atmosphere
