One of my all time favorite places on the Great Sacandaga Lake! Not only is the view of the lake and the mountains beautiful, but no matter what time of day I walk in I end up leaving with new friends. Enjoyed the afternoon acoustic musician, Aaron Mittler, on the porch. He played many of my favorite songs. I also enjoyed a fried dough - which I have not had since I was a kid! Great Seasonal beer on tap as well!
Be CAREFUL if you are ordering soda w/your lunch or dinner!! REFILLS ARE NOT FREE!!!! My husband and I and our 2 kids had lunch there recently and spent $20 alone just on soda. The cups are small and filled to the top w/ice. Never once did the waitress mention that refills weren't free, unlike most establishments. The food was decent and the view and atmosphere of the place itself was great, but I felt ripped off when i left there.
I bought a camp in the park two years ago and and did not eat at the pub until the past summer. I went to the pub with friends and family and we loved it. The owner came over and Introduce himself unlike what some people say he was very nice. The food was good.
Went here for the first time on the night that the city was shooting off fireworks in celebration of the 4th of July. We just had a couple of drinks and french fries, which were fine. The rest of the menu is the usual bar/diner food. The key part of this restaurant is its view of Sacandaga Lake. Beautiful! As we were leaving, it looked like they were getting set to play some live music. It would also be a fine place to watch sports.
Service was very slow, food was not bad, but for the price, it was poor. BE AWARE, before you eat at this establishment, they will charge you for every soft drink and tea refill as if a new purchase. Was not aware of this before we received our bill. Brought it to our servers attention, and the attitude was as if she did not care. I have never in my life had to pay for a refill on a soda when I was eating a meal at a restaurant. We will never go back to this place again!!!!!!!!!!
