Sergi's Canton Italian
Reviews
My partner and I just had an incredible delicious meal at Sergi's, and I recommend it highly. After all the years of my travelling with Microsoft Corporation from city to city around this country, I feel I know a good meal when it is placed before me. My partner ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, and I had the fettuccini alfredo w/ chicken & broccoli. The meal is served with garlic bread slices and salads (either house or Caesar). I chose the Caesar (which was a meal in itself). We had at least half of the entrée to bring back to the hotel. I'm not sure why some of the people on here have given this establishment lower ratings. Maybe there is a new chef now? Maybe they did not have a good evening that particular time they were there? BUT I do know that for TONIGHT I ate an excellent meal at a very reasonable price. If we should ever return this direction again, we will be sure to stop again. Give it try - it never hurts, and maybe you will be just as lucky as us to enjoy something wonderful on the palate ;-)
They try hard. Well, the servers try hard... the kitchen staff clearly isn't all that interested. The bread was completely tasteless. My pasta dish was okay at best. Servers were very nice and accommodating.
Love sergies.
This is the best Italian food that Canton has to offer but, that's not saying a lot. First off what kind of pizzeria/Italian restaurant does not offer slices in a college town? Their answer instead to slices our their "world famous" pizza rolls. Pizza rolls are nothing more than glorified pan pizza's folded over and cooked. This allows all the extra grease to accumulate inside and the cheese to shift to all one side. Words of advice: If you do get a pizza roll stick to the cheese, pepperoni pizza rolls tend to be even greasier and give a bigger feeling of gut-rot. Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo leaves something to be desired. Prices are fairly average to high. Prices on wings are the biggest rip-off on the menu.
I went there with a friend for slices while passing through town. Ordering was ok, although we were not asked if we were eating there or to go (this comes into play later). We were told that they didn't make slices but offered a "pizza roll." It was a little on the expensive and small side, but we were hungry enough to go for it. The front room had four small tables in front of the counter. Two had people at them, the other two obviously hadn't been wiped in awhile, and there were a lot of people standing around all of them, so we grabbed the food and went to the large, mostly empty room toward the back with only 2 out of maybe 25 tables occupied. As we pulled our chairs out, the waitress rushed over and, unapologetically and in a rude tone of voice, ordered us to eat in the front room because the back room was dine-in only. Um, we bought food there, to eat there...exactly what qualifies as dine-in to them? We then had to sit at a dirty table, had to search to find our own silverware, which further upset the waitress because it was in "her" area, and then discovered that the food was barely edible. It tasted sugary, which pizza should not taste like, and we felt a little sick after we ate it. It was basically fried dough with a small amount of cheese and almost no sauce inside. We were so hungry that almost anything would have been satisfying, but it was difficult to eat it. While we ate the waitress that had been rude stood at the counter watching us and shooting dirty looks at us, which made us feel very uncomfortable. I am not at all picky, but between the quality of the service and the food, I would never go there again. I have never felt so unwelcome at a restaurant in my life, especially one with such high prices and such low-quality food.
