Club Sushi at Mohegan Manor

We had the best sushi, atmosphere and service at Club Sushi over Valentine's Day weekend. The restaurant was a great temperature (not chilly like so many places, these days) with fireplaces and a warm ambiance. The owner took the time to check on us and the waiter was very personable. The food was excellent. The fish is extremely fresh and the prices are reasonable. This is the best sushi restaurant around in our experience.
So my husband, daughter and myself, decided to try "sushi" at Mohegan Manor this evening. I must say, we were very disappointed! We've been to several restaurants in the Syracuse area, specializing in Sushi, and I would never recommend Mohegan Manor. Yes, the service was refreshing, the environment and ambience was inviting, even the quality of the food was up on standards, but the price we paid for "sushi" was unreasonable! I, honestly, could have prepared the sushi on my own, and I actually have! Even the simple, "Vegetable Tempura" (as an appetizer) was overpriced and prepared so amateurly. Was it "tempura", or was it just some veggies dipped in some sort of batter, and then fried, made to be called TEMPURA????? I've had MUCH better tempura - authentic - at many other restaurants! I suppose the fact that I made it aware to the staff, that I recently have been preparing sushi and tempura on my own, at home, and that they jokingly offered me a job, says something about their "Sushi"????? I felt like they decided, one day out of the blue, to serve sushi, and then sell it at high prices, because it was considered "sushi". I would highly recommend that they hire an authentic Sushi Chef, or lower their prices considerably! I would never recommend to anyone that they go out for Sushi at Mohegan Manor - unless they have a hundred dollars or so to just throw around! If you want really good, authentic Sushi, at an extremely good price, try "Pacific" in Mattydale!!!! They have a Sushi Chef on the premises, prepared to order, and we believe their prices are so under-charged!!!!!! You get WAAAAAAYYYYYYY more Sushi - high-quality and quantity - for what you pay for!!!!! Sorry, Dennis, we'll be going elsewhere for Sushi in the future.......
