Food brought me back to childhood. Extremely generous portions. Good home style food. Great, friendly staff. All around -- makes you filled with happiness.
Basque dining. Picons. Great Basin Arts and Entertainment (live). Amtrack stops just a block or so away.
The other reviews are true. These people make great food and take pride in it. It reminds me of my Grandma's cooking. I had the lamb French dip and my wife had the liver and onions. Both were fantastic. We've been on a cross country road trip and were dreading the thought of more fast food. We stopped in here instead. The staff was really friendly, and so were the locals seated near us. The service was quick even though there wasn't much staff. The place itself was old and pretty much an antique, but it didn't smell and was comfortable, so we didn't mind.
Well, if you are going to advertise "Black- tail Tiger Prawns" for your deep fried prawns that is what they should be not the frozen butterflied type you buy from a store!!! I was severly disappointed.
This is one of my favorite all time restaurants! All of the food is fabulous! And there is no way you can leave hungry. They serve soup, salad, beans, potatoes, and a couple other sides then your main dish, and then dessert! It makes my mouth water just to think about it!
