Sultan Gyro
Reviews
Looking for a simple place to eat good food after starting a job in Lyndhurst, I came upon Sultan Gyro. Very friendly people inside. VERY good, VERY healthy food inside. Generous portions, incredibly fresh, great prices! Regarding another's comment about "arrogant and condescending": not at all. Don't mistake a foreign accent for an attitude that isn't there. Great find! I'm going there now for some kebab. Happy me.
When I first moved to the area I just happened to stumble upon Sultan Gyro. I'm glad that I did because it's one of the best-kept secrets in Lyndhurst. The authentic Turkish food they serve is delicious and much healthier than the other options in town. The falafel and kebab plates with salad and rice are two of my favorites, but the gyros must be just as good because people are ordering them every time I eat here. The owner and chef is one of the friendliest people you'll meet and you'll always see him having a conversation with his customers as he prepares their meal. I absolutely recommend Sultan Gyro.
When the chef is the owner, and he's cooking the cusine of his heritage right in front of you - you know you're on to something. It's called "care". Something lacking from so many places you forget it can exist. It's a humble, honest gyro and kebab shop - and I love it for what it is.
I'm happy I tried Sultan Gyro instead of going to Wendy's. The food is on point! I had both the gyro pita and falafel pita (yeah, that good). Fresh ingredients and great tasting. Try this place out if you're in the area.
Good good from long time chefs. Great prices for portions. In winter weather and summer. I liked flavors.
