Ho-Ho-Kus Inn & Tavern

We ate in a lovely private dining room , the Hermitage Room , beautifully decorated for the holidays , windows to the West and South. My Mother writes- "It was a perfect venue for my husband's birthday party. Twenty-one delicious dinners, all piping hot , miraculously seemed to appear , all at the same time. Ms. Bortolus , the Private Events Manager , charming and helpful in the planning , made everything easy. We could not have been more pleased. It was a lovely , gracious night. No wonder the Inn has survived since 1790! " Barbara McCooe Special thanks to the Hamms.

Devils on the horseback are yummy here! Pricey but usually a good meal out.

Once upon a time I loved this place. It had a seasonal menu, small plates and really tasty and well prepared food. Now that they have a new chef, everything has changed. The prices have increased and the menu has been dumbed-down to that of Houlihan's and Friday's. Yes, the atmosphere is lovely but sometimes I want more than a hamburger and fries. I gave them two chances this month and now they are permanently off my list of good restaurants in Bergen County. We had overcooked fish, very fatty veal and mediocre service.

Excellent brunch! Great selection and super friendly staf!!!

Eh food portion was small for the price...nice taste but not worth the money
