I had heard good things about this place but was disappointed. The home fries cost extra and were soggy and burnt. The "large" apple juice was small and overpriced at $2.95. The omelet was fine but a little small. Overall a very disappointing experence. I doubt I will go again. They have a long way to go to catch up to the Water Wheel.
Rolling in a half hour before closing we recieved friendly service (thanks Sharon) and a good meal for a very acceptable price. If you want table cloth and low lighting go somewhere else. If you want a honest roadside meal served up by friendly people, this is the place to stop. p.s. We are from the "flatlands".
My husband and I eat here often because the food is great, the waitresses are so pleasant, and the service is exactly what we expect. Anyone who has given Grandma's a poor review is probably "from away", the "flatlands" as we call them, and they're looking for something "fancy-pants" with service as quick as you'd find in a drive through. This is great, home-style cooking, and I wouldn't change one thing about it. Locals absolutely love to go to Grandma's for the all-you-can-eat fish fry!
Headed here with a 5 year old and a sleeping 18 month old. Seated promptly in the screened in room. Waitress was great and attentive.
Great, simple diner. Has amazing breakfast.
