Went there with my family for mother's day brunch. Table wasn't ready when we arrived despite having reservations. Service was slow, and their "brunch" menu was a joke. Completely uninspired, and very few options: Eggs benedict, frittatas, or crepes, with some variations of each. That was it. The "thick cut" bacon that came with my eggs were a few pieces of brittle, over cooked THIN strips, that tasted like they came out of a frozen breakfast and were microwaved. The eggs were okay, and the potatoes were surprisingly good, but apparently 13 bucks only gets you 5 small home fries. The crepes were okay, but had way too much cream cheese filling and whipped cream, and were certainly not worth 13 dollars, maybe 5-6 at best. At any rate, I'll definitely not be returning, and would advise you to select another restaurant if you're in the area. As a side note I find it really annoying that "Magic Food Group" or whatever the hell they're called, can't be bothered to have an individual website for each of their restaurants. When you do a google search, the magic website pops up, but doesn't catch your eye, because you don't identify their group with the restaurant you're looking for unless you know that they're the parent company...which I didn't, and I would imagine most other people don't either.

Very good food & service I enjoyed the seafood stir fry and my wife had the scallops. Both were tender and well prepaired. In winter there is a great view of the (frozen) lake. In the summer I suspect all you see is leaves. Will come again. Lunch for two was $40

I'll start by saying we won't be returning. There are too many other good restaurants in the area that care about the customer experience. We went in on a Saturday night at 7:30 and there was only one other party in the dining room. We had such high hopes. I had been wanting to try it for months. We try calamari in every restaurant we go to that has it on the menu. We ordered theirs and it was small rings well fried, and it would have been very good except for the fact that it was drenched with an asian chili sauce that made the rings ultimately soggy. I ordered one of the specials, a 4oz filet with a butter poached lobster tail. I couldn't resist. I love butter poached lobster. I make it at home and it is alot of work, par cooking lobster taking it out of the shell then poaching. Their's was a small split tail, with the meat still attached to the shell? Butter poached? Really? Not in my experience. The filet has a strange taste and smelled bad and it wasn't a seasoning. My companion tasted it and agreed. I told the manager, who took it back to the kitchen but never returned. He did ask me if I wanted something else when he took it away, and I declined because I didn't want to wait, and has pretty much had lost my appetite. He never came back. My dining companion ordered the braised short ribs with polenta. The ribs had good flavor but were dry and there was no sauce or braising liquid with the dish. We decided not to get dessert, and were surprised that we were not at least offered a comped dessert seeing how I sent my steak back. I had one bite, Mike the other. It was still on the check when we got it. Never a word or offer of a reduction in the check. $29.00 for something that bad was inexcusable. We should have gone to Lago or Lavinia's.

If you are looking for really good food, The Canoe Restaurant is the place for you. Located in New Hampshire, Canoe sits on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee and provides diners with breathtaking views. The inside of the restaurant is reminiscent of an old boat house that you would find on any lake in New England. One can see why it is called Canoe because the rafters are full of old canoes. From the upstairs dining room you can see much of the lake which is just a short walk away. As you would expect, Canoe does seafood really well. The lobster mac and cheese is rich and creamy with fresh chunks of lobster. Also, the lobster rolls are consistently good with large chunks of fresh lobster meat. By far the favorite menu item is the Canoe Chips. Start with a plate of in-house made, thick-cut potato chips. Smother these in a mouthwatering blue cheese sauce and top it off with bacon bits and chopped scallions…heaven on a plate! The service was OK. When we walked in, they seated us right away. The waiter was very attentive. He kept our drinks filled and was helpful with menu questions. He had great recommendations like the Canoe Chips. If the memory of your meal at Canoe and the Canoe Chips aren’t enough to last a lifetime, you can pick up a Canoe T-shirt on your way out.

I went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. Food was excellent but service was VERY SLOW and they were not that busy! It looked like a very young and unsupervised group of servers. Too bad. Not sure I would go back.
