Made the mistake of ordering halibut. My wife became Ill where as I was merely disgusted by the flavor and texture. Will not return. Decor is typical bar with a dinghy soup kitchen like back dining area.
This place is not bad the waitresses need an attitude adjustment that will hurt a business mabe they need a different place to work at

The Sportsman Cafe is a breakfast, lunch, and dinner spot in the town of Tioga, ND. A simple menu, featuring all day breakfast, sandwiches and burgers, and your standard lunch and dinner fare you find in the region. I was most impressed with their salad bar, which, although it features shredded lettuce (yuck), has a nice selection of fruits and veggies, all very fresh. I have had a decent steak in the place (not great or even very good, but I haven't found a great steak in this state), which includes soup and salad bar. The prices are a bit high, but with the oil boom that brought me here come higher prices. We just get used to it. Although I have not tried the pizza (diet), I have been told by the locals that it varies from very good to outstanding. Overall, I was impressed with the little restaurant and I would definitely visit again.
The food is not great at all. The same menu for the last 3 yrs since I have come back to Tioga. The first review they had must not have eaten at the same place. Lil's Dinner is much better and cleaner. The Sportsman is making plenty of money from the oilfield workers you would think they would clean up the place, cook better, and change the menu. Vegetables are one of the four food groups in America or maybe this is part of Canada, but I don't remember any wars in history class.
