Babb's Coffee House
Reviews

This is a really delightful place, and dependably good. The service is pleasant, and if Babbs is serving you, it couldn't be better. For a small business and locally owned, it doesn't get better than this! Great coffee, relaxing atmosphere, and delicious treats tempt you. Couldn't disagree more with the posting from two years ago - I've been visiting Babb's for about 18 months, and it's my favorite coffee shop in Jamestown.

I find everything about this place enchanting - the idea of the poetry reading (although I am neither a poet, nor a keen poetry reader, I prefer fiction), the atmosphere and the coffee. Have you ever heard the story of the "dancing goats" coffee? I was quite amused when I was "served" the story along with a cup of coffee on my first visit to Babb's. I will not spit it out. Whoever is interested, must find it out on his/her own. I recommend the place!

The coffee was decent.

Outstanding Coffee shop.

When this place opened it was my go to place. Linen napkins, excellent service and food. Now...coffees/lattes are still the best in town. However, staff is always turning over so it never fails there is someone at the till who says they're new and takes forever to get an order. Place is dirty. With two other tables full, I had to bus the table I wanted to sit at and that dirtiness sat where I left it the whole time I was there. The place where I was seated had enough food on the floor under my feet that I probably could have made another snack out of it and someone's hair tie was lying there. The linen has been replaced by cheap paper napkins rolled and taped with scotch tape. Oh and the food today? It was evident they were scrambling to find the oatmeal and nuts offered. This used to be served beautifully on a plate with fresh cream, nuts, cranberries etc. A bowl was plopped down and I had to ask (a second time) for brown sugar and went hunting for the 1/2 and 1/2 container at the coffee condiments to complete my breakfast. This is typical of the food service I've had the few times I've recently decided to eat in rather than grab a coffee and go. Bring it back up to snuff Babbs.
