Had a reservation at another place and they did not honor our request for a first floor room (and no elevator available). They steered us here and we were surprised at both the size of the room and the friendliness of the owner. We much prefer Mom & Pop motels to chains and this one is just fine. (Also have a restaurant on site and his wife is the cook-hand cut ribeyes are the special tonight.)
I stay in motels from one end of North Dakota to the other. This is by far-and-away the worst of the worst. I'll sleep in my truck before spending 60 bucks on this dump again. Don't let the brick facade fool you, this place is bad. No heat, shower is ice cold one minute and scalding the next. The ancient 19" TV needs "warm-up-time" every time you change the channel. I especially enjoyed the postage-stamp sized soap, with which I had to wash my hair with as well, seeing as a quarter-ounce of shampoo is obviously an unnecessary expense.
