I was raise in Windsor, NC and when I recently returned home my parents insisted in going to Ella's Cafe and it was worth it!! I love the down home true southern feel! There was a bunch of locals in there and I jumped right in the conversations and was treated as if they knew me for years! I had the hamburger steak and gravy and I give it and everything about this place an A++
UNBELIEVABLE SOFT-SHELL CRABS. I WAS BARRELLING DOWN RT. 13 IN WINDSOR NC ON MY M.C. AND SAW THIS JOINT;3 COP CARS OFF TO THE SIDE AND REAR DURING LUNCH HOUR.
THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. SERVICE WAS TYP NC KUNTRY, BUT FOLKS INSIDE WERE TRUE SOUTHERNERS.
STOP THERE ON WAY TO BEAUFORT, NEW BERN, WASHINGTON ETC
