Finding this place was sort of surreal. My wife and I were 75 miles from home on a motorcycle ride. We were talking about finding a place to eat when we saw a man in a tuxedo shirt walk out of a bodega. He drove over to us, greeted us, and invited us to lunch. The food was amazing we'll definitely be back. There were a lot of people dressed up, but we come as we are. We're polite and well-mannered, but obviously we were dressed for riding bikes. We were treated the same as the people in their Sunday best. The experience was outstanding, and we're so glad Bruce stopped to tell us about the restaurant. Our service could not have been better. The server was attentive and always seemed to show up just as we were thinking about needing something soon. I can only imagine the people giving bad reviews were probably rude and demanding, because we couldn't have hoped for anything more..
The food was superb! (I enjoyed a signature BBQ sandwich). But there is more: the staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is first rate. Mr. Ed Wiley III came out to speak with us and cannot have been a finer host. I'll definitely be back the next time I am in town.
Awesome experience ! Food superb, staff very professional but very down home. Music was so smooth and refined took you to a place where time really stood still at least for a moment. Very excited about our next visit and can hardly wait ! Without a doubt strongly recommend for family, friends, and lovers ! The secret is OUT!
We have been here both at lunch and for our special occasions. At lunch we were part of a group. In all instances we received excellent food as well as excellent attention. I was impressed with the variety of food offered on the menu.
We have visited this restaurant about 8 times. "Regular" visits are okay - the food has varied from really good to just okay. I'd really like more consistency. But I have to give big kudos to the "special" visits - Easter, Mother's Day and last Thanksgiving. The restaurant sets up a buffet and offers items not usually on the menu. The food was great; the service excellent and on Easter and Mother's Day there was music which was nice. My favorite is definitely the salmon on the regular visits and the stuffed rock fish on the other occasions.
