Nice place, excellent food but mediocre service. We got there early and ordered the special which was absolutely delicious. However, drinks arrived without straws and food arrived without silverware. Tea was refilled but all the ice had melted. If you see food on the plate, ask if the customer wants a to go box, etc. Wait staff needs some training on anticipating customer needs a little better.
My brother in law and I went a few weeks back. It was my first time to the Denver location, and it was awful. I've been to the one in Cornelius numerous times, and it by far blows the one in Denver out of the water. Our waitress acted like we were not welcome there, I went to place my order to find out they were out of stock. When we finally received our food (45 minutes) in a restaurant that was not busy, both of our rolls had mold growing on the inside. Plain gross. We will NEVER go back to the Denver location. I'd rather drive to Cornelius to enjoy that location.
Midtown has large portions for lunch specials and the food is good.
Midtown is very convenient to my residence, and because of this, I have been there three times in the last month hoping each experience would be a little better than the prior. I was wrong. Service is always slow, and it's a gamble whether the bartender or the waitress is going to be a faster refill. Each time I've gone, I've had about two-three drinks. I think it's ridiculous that in that amount, I have to wait 10 minutes between drinks, even just to get a water. Most appalling is my suspicion that they do not change their oil for frying often enough. I will not order anything that is fried from Midtown. Occasionally, you may get the worst of that, and not only will you end up with fries/wings/etc. that aren't fresh, but some with an unbelievably miserable taste. The best thing Midtown has is the atmosphere. Everyone is pretty friendly, just seemingly incompetent, and the beer selection isn't terrible (relative to other local restaurants), but could be better.
For the best wings in town, visit this Midtown Sundries. If you are a bleu cheese fan, theirs is fantastic! Our servers are always friendly, and the food is of high quality, at a very reasonable price.
